For business owners and directors

Your business is probably paying for tech it doesn't need.

Systems pile up, contracts auto-renew and nobody's sure what's safe to switch off. The Tech Translator helps you find the waste and decide what to do about it, in plain English.

Tech has changed fast. Your systems may not have kept up.

Paying twice

Two or three tools quietly doing the same job, each with its own monthly bill.

Stuck with legacy systems

An old system everyone works around, because getting out of it feels too risky or complicated.

Reports nobody understands

Agency and software reports full of jargon, and no clear answer to "is this worth the money?"

How it works

One afternoon. No jargon. No sales pitch.

STEP 1

List what you pay for

Use the spreadsheet to note every system and subscription, what it costs and when the contract ends.

STEP 2

Answer simple questions

Five yes/no questions per system. The audit suggests whether to keep, merge, downgrade or cut it.

STEP 3

See your saving

Get a before-and-after total and the date you must give notice by, so nothing auto-renews by surprise.

About

Someone who's been through it, not a software salesperson

I've worked in operations since 2010 and lived through every wave of "you need this new system". Along the way I've cleansed messy data, merged systems to cut out duplicate spend, explained paid advertising to boards who didn't speak the language, and launched e-commerce sites for hundreds of pounds when the quotes were in the thousands.

The Tech Translator puts that experience into simple tools any business owner can use. I don't sell software and I don't take commission from suppliers, so the only thing I'm trying to do is help you spend less and understand more.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to be technical?

No. If you can fill in a spreadsheet and find your bank statements, you can do the audit. Every question is in plain English.

What software do I need?

Microsoft Excel works best. Google Sheets and Apple Numbers will open it too, though some colours and dropdowns may look slightly different.

How big a business is it for?

It's built for small and medium-sized businesses with roughly 5 to 50 systems and subscriptions. It has room for 50 systems.

Will you try to sell me software?

No. I don't resell software or take commission from suppliers. Recommendations are based purely on what's right for your business.

Is this legal or contractual advice?

No, it's practical guidance. Always check your contract terms before cancelling anything, and export any important data first.
